Maximum Heart Rate Information

Your Excercising Heart Rate Zone is where your heart rate should be when performing aerobic exercise, especially if you are unfit or a beginner to exercising.

Your Exercising Heart Rate Zone is measured by your heart beat and how fast it is beating during your fitness program.

Research has shown that if you exercise while keeping your heart rate in this range, you will be more effective at improving aerobic fitness. People who do little or no exercise should initially have a goal to exercise at about 60 percent of their maximum heart rate.

You can check your beats-per-minute rate by taking your pulse while you exercise. Use your index finger to locate the bony prominence on the thumb side of your wrist. Slide your finger down gently towards the centre of your wrist. Time the number of beats you feel for 15 seconds, then multiply by 4.

As a general rule, the intensity of the exercise you are doing should not prevent you from talking, but should prevent you from singing.
